I bought the 26" and 21" suitcases in 2018. They look like new, despite numerous flights. However, on my last flight home, the elevator at the train station was out of order so I had to haul the heavy (48 pound) suitcase up a long flight of stairs. Without thinking, I pulled it up using the telescoping handle. When I went to check in, I discovered that this had damaged the handle and it was nearly impossible to collapse the handle so I could check the bag. When I got home, I took the handle out (thanks to several YouTube tutorials) and saw that one of the handle tubes was bent. As I didn't want to replace the suitcase, I contacted Heys Canada via the website to buy a replacement handle. They responded to my email within the hour and asked for a few photographs of the suitcase, damage and the labels inside to verify the model. (I did not keep the purchase receipt from 2018). Again, they responded quickly and offered to replace the entire handle assembly for free -- all I needed to do was pay $25 CAD for shipping. I was pleasantly surprised -- although the luggage was within the 10-year warranty period, this was definitely "user error" which most manufacturers do not cover. It is a refreshing change to contact a company that stands behind their product (and its users) and provides such prompt service! Please learn from my mistake and don't pull this (or any suitcase) up a staircase using the telescoping handle -- it wasn't designed for that! If I ever need to replace this suitcase, I will definitely buy a Heys!

Some good qualities with drawbacks

Was excited by the top loading capability of these bags. When I received it, I realized that feature would likely not be as useful as expected. A major oversight is that the zippers for the top compartment do not tie in with the TSA locks of the main clamshell zipper. Quality of the bags seemed reasonable, but the trolley handles felt weak, wobbly and didn’t engage in the extension positions without often trying 2-3 times. It did seem more difficult to pack them as full though the top loader vs the clamshell method. Overall, I was a bit underwhelmed by them and decided I could not live with the sloppiness of the handles
